OK, here's the setup: I input my known lat-lon position into the
online NA at the USNO to get a data table for the various celestial
objects. I use the data for Jupiter and Polaris and plug them into
programs designed to give my location from those data which should return the same location as I started with but there is always a discrepancy. Why?
