DEAR MS BASSEY [SHIRLEY]
Raymond J Warren [December 2009]
Brisbane QLD
#80
I am sorry to say that in all my years,
I have [through nerves] had many fears.
Too many for what I have wanted to do,
To tell you in prose, what I think of you.

When first you entered into my heart,
Song was only the tiniest part.
It was your way, that part of thee,
Your face, your eyes, they captured me.

Through all the turmoil, the tempestuous years,
I followed you bravely, though sometimes in tears,
Not for a moment, was my love be displaced,
Whilst each loving song, was displayed on your face

So thank you Ms Bassey [Shirley] my dear,
I’ll love you forever, though you are not near.
Though you know not my name, nor even my face,
Thanks for the pleasure that you gave to my race
Human that is….
