The term a capella means "From the top and no musical accompanyment". I have sang Madrigals, Motets, and solia cappella. My concentration in college was Operatic Vocal Performance at a prestigious music conservatory.
The key to singing a capella with perfect pitch is to find your starting note in a reasonable key for your vocal type. If you are able to support with your breath and hear an accompaniment in just your own head you can sing perfectly on pitch.
My dream role as an Opera Singer is to sing and perform Wagner"s Ring Cycle.
