Cold Case
1973 murder

I'm looking for information in the 1973 murder of a young boy from Hopwood, Pa. His name was Earl J. Wolfe. I tried talking to the Pa. Cold Case officer who has since retired. Nothing happend with that and frankly, I got the impression they were not the least bit interested. I gave them a couple of names and they were aware of one of them. The CC officer said he read the file on this one and said to himself that this is the guy who did it. That's straight from his mouth, not mine. I have recently tried to contact them again and was told the CC was disbanded that I would have to talk to the police in that jurisdiction, which I have and have been waiting for a call for a long time now. Just don't seem interested in it anymore.
I know both of these guys, one extremely well and have always suspected they were involved in the murder. Plus, things were said over the years by mistake that point to them comitting the murder.
This murder was comitted in Hopwood, right outside of Uniontown Pa. There was also another murder of a retired jewler in Uniontown within weeks that is also unsolved and I suspect these two people comitted that one also.

Any assistance would be appriciated...

I'm not sure if this will reach whomever posted this, as it has been a few years since you posted this ad. Anyhow I was doing some research on my end and happened to stumble upon this article. Not giving too much away I'll just say I'm close with the family and have always wondered what really went on, and to whom else may have had information on this. The fact that the Cold Case being disband sounds like it could be true as forensics is no where near good enough back then compaired to todays standards. Anyhow if this does make it back to you, I would like to discuss a few things in regards to this. Thank you in advance...
