Overview:
The constellation Virgo (pronouced ver' go) is the 2nd largest constellation in the night sky with an area of 1294 square degrees. The name of Virgo means Maiden.

Location:
Virgo is located at RA 13 h and Declination 0°. Virgo is best seen between latitudes +80° and -80° in the month of May. Virgo is bordered by the following constellations: Bootes, Coma Berenices, Corvus, Crater, Hydra, Leo, Libra, Serpens Caput.

Stars:
Virgo contains within its borders about 58 visible stars. The principal star of Virgo is Spica. The brightest star is Ross 128 (10.92 ly). Virgo also contains within its boundries the following notable stars: Alaraph, Auva, Porrima, Spica, Syrma, Vindemiatrix, Zaniah, Zavijava.
