Serpens (pronouced sir' pens) is the 23rd most volumous constellation in the night sky with an area of 637 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Serpent.

Location:
Serpens is located at Right Ascension 16 h and Declination +10°. It is best seen between latitudes +80° and -80° in the July. Serpens is bordered by the following constellations: , Aquila, Bootes, Corona Borealis, Hercules, Libra, Ophiuchus, Ophiuchus, Sagittarius, Scutum, Serpens Caput:, Serpens Cauda:, Virgo.
