Overview:
Scorpius (pronouced skor' pee us) is the 33rd largest constellation in the night sky with an area of 497 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Scorpion.

Location:
Scorpius is located at RA 16 h 53 m 15 s and Declination "-30° 44' 12""°". It is best seen between latitudes +40° and -90° in the July. Scorpius is adjacent to the following constellations: Ara, Corona Australis, Libra, Lupus, Norma, Ophiuchus, Sagittarius.

Stars:
Scorpius contains within its borders about 62 visible stars. The principal star of Scorpius is Antares. The brightest star is HD 156384 (22.74 ly). This constellation also contains within its boundries the following notable stars: Acrab, Antares, Dschubba, Graffias, Jabbah, Lesath, Shaula.
