Overview:
The constellation Puppis (pronouced pup' iss) is the 20th most volumous constellation in the night sky with an area of 673 square degrees. The name of Puppis means Stern.

Location:
Puppis is located at Right Ascension 7.5 h and Declination -30°. It is best seen between the latitudes +40° and -90° in the February. Puppis is bordered by the following constellations: Canis Major, Carina, Columba, Hydra, Monoceros, Pictor, Pyxis, Vela.

Stars:
Puppis contains within its borders about 93 visible stars. The principal star of Puppis is Zeta Pup. The brightest of Puppis's stars is HD 69830 (41 ly). This constellation also contains within its boundries the following notable stars: Naos.
