Description

Overview:
The constellation Pisces (pronouced pie' seez) is the 14th most volumous constellation in the night sky with an area of 889 square degrees. The name of Pisces means Fishes.

Location:
Pisces is located at Right Ascension 1 h and Declination +15°. It is best seen between latitudes +90° and -65° in the November. Pisces is bordered by the following constellations: Andromeda, Aquarius, Aries, Cetus, Pegasus, Triangulum.

Stars:
Pisces contains within its borders about 50 visible stars. The principal star of Pisces is Formalhaut. The brightest of Pisces's stars is Van Maanen's Star (14.1 ly). This constellation also contains within its boundries the following noteworthy stars: Kaitain, Okda, Risha.

Pisces is the 37th brightest constellation with a visual magnitude of 5.62.
