Description

Overview:
The constellation Perseus (pronouced pur' see us) is the 24th most volumous constellation in the night sky with an area of 615 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Hero; Perseus.

Location:
Perseus is located at Right Ascension 3 h and Declination +45°. It is best seen between the latitudes +90° and -35° in the December. Perseus is adjacent to the following constellations: Andromeda, Aries, Auriga, Camelopardalis, Cassiopeia, Taurus, Triangulum.

Stars:
Perseus contains within its borders approximately 65 visible stars. The principal star of Perseus is Marfak. The brightest star is ? Per (34.4 ly). Perseus also contains within its boundries the following notable stars: Algol, Atik, Menkib, Mirfak.
