Orion (pronouced or eye' on) is the 26th largest constellation in the night sky with an area of 594 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Hunter; Orion.

Location:
Orion is located at Right Ascension 5 h and Declination +5°. Orion is best seen between latitudes +85° and -75° in the January. Orion is bordered by the following constellations: Eridanus, Gemini, Lepus, Monoceros, Taurus.

Stars:
Orion contains within its borders approximately 77 visible stars. The principal star of Orion is Betelgeuze. The brightest star is p3 Ori (26.3 ly).
