an area of 210 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Microscope.
Location:
Microscopium is located at Right Ascension 21 h and Declination -36°.
Microscopium is best seen between the latitudes +45° and -90° in the month of September.
Microscopium is bordered by the following constellations: Capricornus,
Grus,
Indus,
Piscis Austrinus,
Sagittarius,
Telescopium.
Stars:
Microscopium contains within its borders about 15 visible stars. The principal star of Microscopium is Alpha Mic. The brightest star is Lacaille 8760 (12.87 ly).
