Description

Overview:
The constellation Microscopium (pronouced my krow scop' ee um) is the 66th most volumous constellation in the night sky with an area of 210 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Microscope.

Location:
Microscopium is located at Right Ascension 21 h and Declination -36°. Microscopium is best seen between the latitudes +45° and -90° in the month of September. Microscopium is bordered by the following constellations: Capricornus, Grus, Indus, Piscis Austrinus, Sagittarius, Telescopium.

Stars:
Microscopium contains within its borders about 15 visible stars. The principal star of Microscopium is Alpha Mic. The brightest star is Lacaille 8760 (12.87 ly). This constellation also contains within its boundries the following noteworthy stars: Alpha Mic.
