Description

Overview:
Lupus (pronouced loo' pus) is the 46th most volumous constellation in the night sky with an area of 334 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Wolf.

Location:
Lupus is located at RA 15 h and Declination -43°. Lupus is best seen between the latitudes +35° and -90° in the June. Lupus is adjacent to the following constellations: Centaurus, Circinus, Hydra , Libra, Norma, Scorpius.

Stars:
Lupus contains within its borders approximately 50 visible stars. The principal star of Lupus is Alpha Lup. The brightest star is Nu2 Lupi (47.5 ly). Lupus also contains within its boundries the following notable stars: Alpha Lup.
