an area of 290 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Hare.
Location:
Lepus is located at Right Ascension 6 h and Declination -20°.
It is best seen between the latitudes +63° and -90° in the month of January.
Lepus is bordered by the following constellations: Caelum,
Canis Major,
Columba,
Eridanus,
Monoceros,
Orion.
Stars:
Lepus contains within its borders approximately 28 visible stars. The principal star of Lepus is Arneb. The brightest star is Gl 229 (19 ly).
