Description

Overview:
The constellation Lacerta (pronouced luh sir' tuh) is the 68th largest constellation in the night sky with an area of 201 square degrees. The name of Lacerta means Lizard.

Location:
Lacerta is located at RA 22.5 h and Declination +45°. Lacerta is best seen between the latitudes +90° and -35° in the October. Lacerta is adjacent to the following constellations: Andromeda, Cassiopeia, Cepheus, Cygnus, Pegasus.

Stars:
Lacerta contains within its borders approximately 23 visible stars. The principal star of Lacerta is Alpha Lac. The brightest of Lacerta's stars is EV Lacertae (16.5 ly). Lacerta also contains within its boundries the following notable stars: Alpha Lac.
