Overview:
The constellation Grus (pronouced groose) is the 45th largest constellation in the night sky with an area of 366 square degrees. The name of Grus means Crane.

Location:
Grus is located at Right Ascension 22 h and Declination -47°. Grus is best seen between the latitudes +34° and -90° in the month of October. Grus is adjacent to the following constellations: Indus, Microscopium, Phoenix, Piscis Austrinus, Sculptor, Tucana.

Stars:
Grus contains within its borders about 24 visible stars. The principal star of Grus is Al Na'ir. The brightest of Grus's stars is HD 211415 (44.4 ly). Grus also contains within its boundries the following noteworthy stars: Alnair.
