Fornax (pronouced for' nax) is the 41st largest constellation in the night sky with an area of 398 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Furnace.

Location:
Fornax is located at Right Ascension 3 h and Declination -30°. It is best seen between the latitudes +50° and -90° in the month of December. Fornax is bordered by the following constellations: Cetus, Eridanus, Phoenix, Sculptor.

Stars:
Fornax contains within its borders about 12 visible stars. The principal star of Fornax is Alpha For. The brightest star is HD 14412 (41.35 ly). Fornax also contains within its boundries the following notable stars: Alpha For.
