Overview:
The constellation Eridanus (pronouced air uh day' nus) is the 6th most volumous constellation in the night sky with an area of 1138 square degrees. The name of Eridanus means River.

Location:
Eridanus is located at RA 3.25 h and Declination -29°. It is best seen between the latitudes +32° and -90° in the month of December. Eridanus is bordered by the following constellations: Caelum, Cetus, Fornax, Horologium, Hydrus, Lepus, Orion, Phoenix, Taurus, Tucana.

Stars:
Eridanus contains within its borders about 79 visible stars. The principal star of Eridanus is Archernar. The brightest of Eridanus's stars is e Eri (10.5 ly). Eridanus also contains within its boundries the following noteworthy stars: Acamar, Achernar, Angetenar, Azha, Beid, Cursa, Keid, Rana, Zaurac.
