Overview:
Aquila (pronouced ak' will uh) is the 22nd largest constellation in the night sky with an area of 652 square degrees. The name of this constellation means Eagle.

Location:
Aquila is located at RA 20 h and Declination +5°. It is best seen between the latitudes +85° and -75° in the month of August. Aquila is adjacent to the following constellations: Aquarius, Capricornus, Delphinus, Hercules, Ophiuchus, Sagitta, Sagittarius, Scutum, Serpens Cauda.

Aquila contains within its borders approximately 56 visible stars. The principal star of Aquila is Altair. The brightest star is Altair (a Aql) (16.72 ly). Aquila also contains within its boundries the following notable stars: Alshain, Altair, Tarazed.
