Description

Overview:
Apus (pronouced ape' us) is the 67th most volumous constellation in the night sky with an area of 206 square degrees. The name of Apus means Bird of Paradise.

Location:
Apus is located at RA 16 h and Declination -75°. It is best seen between the latitudes +5° and -90° in the month of July. Apus is bordered by the following constellations: Ara, Chamaeleon, Circinus, Musca, Octans, Pavo, Triangulum Australe.

Stars:
Apus contains within its borders about 10 visible stars. The principal star of Apus is Alpha Aps. The brightest star is HD 122862 (93.5 ly). Apus also contains within its boundries the following noteworthy stars: Alpha Aps.
