Carl Sagan
Carl Sagan
(1935 - 1996) was an American astronomer and physicist
who is best known for his promotion of popular science.
He co-wrote and narrated the highly popular science
miniseries Cosmos: A Personal Voyage which aired in
1980. The miniseries was seen by over 600 million
viewers.
Sagan also made several notable discoveries in astronomy and
helped with NASA in the development of space probes such as
Pioneer 10, Pioneer 11, and Voyager.
