. He started singing songs with his father when he was 10.

Later he went to Izmir and took music classes from Rakım Elkutlu and literature classes from Tokadzade Şekip Bey. Through these classes, he started writing the lyrics of his own music.

He was killed in an accident in Vatan Caddesi on November 25, 1965 and was buried into the Şişli Cemetery.

He wrote about 100 songs. His favorites are "Söyle derdini kaç yıl çekecek" in the Hicaz makam
