Hüseyin Mayadağ was a lyricist of popular Turkish music. He was born in Salonika in 1915. In 1916 his family moved to Istanbul
. He spent his childhood and youth in Istanbul. He is son of Faik Fuat the lutist
. He started singing songs with his father when he was 10.
Later he went to Izmir and took music classes from Rakım Elkutlu and literature classes from Tokadzade Şekip Bey. Through these classes, he started writing the lyrics of his own music.
He was killed in an accident in Vatan Caddesi on November 25, 1965 and was buried into the Şişli Cemetery.
He wrote about 100 songs. His favorites are "Söyle derdini kaç yıl çekecek" in the Hicaz makam
and "Hayat budur sevgilim" in the Hüzzam makam.
